Members lead, we help organize
Baltimore Families for Safe Streets confronts the preventable epidemic of traffic violence by advocating for life-saving changes and supporting those affected by crashes.
We are a chapter of the national Families for Safe Streets movement and a program of Bikemore.

What we do
- 01
Empower those affected by crashes through emotional support, advocacy training, and community.
- 02
We turn collective grief into action, so our stories make the city move.
- 03
Advocate for safe speeds, safer road design, and safer vehicles — all the way to Vision Zero.

Amril Hamer
I'm Amril "Amery" Hamer, the lead organizer with Baltimore Families for Safe Streets. As a former organizer at Transportation Alternatives working alongside Families for Safe Streets in the Bronx, I have witnessed the devastating impact traffic violence has on families and their community.
My 'why' is to prevent others from experiencing a preventable tragedy. I'm here to help push for real solutions—like lower speed limits and Vision Zero designed streets—to build a safer future together.
If you have been hurt in a crash or lost someone, please reach out to me.
